Website Migration for The Dan Lewis Foundation

The Client

The Dan Lewis Foundation is an incorporated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports innovative, specifically targeted brain regeneration research through business and academic partnerships, programatic, well-designed research, and supporting scientific advancements.


The Foundation’s initiatives bring together leaders and visionaries from universities, the biotech industry, brain injury associations and interest groups, and communities invested in promoting better outcomes for persons with brain injury and their families. Our goal is to expand the world’s understanding of the brain’s potential for regeneration — including axonal regrowth, synaptogenesis, and neuronal replacement — when supported by a consistent and effective therapeutic context.


The Problem

The original Dan Lewis Foundation website, built using Squarespace, had a good overall design and flow. However, the team found making edits to be cumbersome and clunky. They would often have to overlook design elements in favour of content elements. Additionally, Squarespace did not easily integrate with many of the tools that they were using for marketing.


The Solution

Enter MAP Web.


Having worked with The Dan Lewis Foundation for just over a year, the team here at CCC believed it was the right time to make the migration from Squarespace to MAP. Our team carefully weighed the pros and cons of migrating the website and discussed them with the team at The Dan Lewis Foundation and we all agreed that this was the right move.

MAP Web provides a simply to use editor with advanced SEO capabilities and more integration opportunities. Since The Dan Lewis Foundation was already subscribing to many products and services provided by CCC, such as MAP Social, it made the switch quick and painless. Our expert SEO team started out by suggesting optimizations and simplifying the navigation before our designer created a similar layout that brought in more colour and style. Finally we brought over all the great content that the client already had on their site and finalized the website.


The Results

The teams at CCC and The Dan Lewis Foundation were thrilled with the refreshed design of the site.  While the content stayed mostly the same, the new site is much more engaging and user-friendly. More importantly, the editor is much easier to use, with many drag and drop elements, meaning the client will have much more design freedom as they evolve.


We've already seen an increase in SERP since the new website has launched and are excited to check in on the progress as time goes on. Check out the before and after images below!
